Crash Bandicoot was an iconic character that was exclusive to the PlayStation at the time, but he belonged to a third-party studio. And while TG88 from the Doko Demo Issho series reached mascot-like status in Japan, the cute feline character was hardly known outside of PlayStation’s home country. That was followed up with the PSVR-exclusive game Astro Bot Rescue Mission.
It’s fine as a resource, but I don’t think it makes “all the sense in the world” to have it ready on day one. We never used to have guides like these from day one, and had lots of fun figuring things out. So I disagree – these kind of guides on day one should be discouraged and not commended. In this Astro Bot guide, we have a full walkthrough of the game, pointing out where to find all the collectibles in every level. This includes the locations of all Bots, all Puzzle Pieces, and all Lost Galaxy Warp Portals.
Later on, you’ll also unlock the Dual Speeder Garage, where you can personnalise Astro’s controller plane, and the Changing Room to switch up Astro’s look to outfits collected in the Gacha Lab. The levels in Astro Bot feature a staggering amount of interactive elements from jump pads, blocks, and platforms through to what appear to be decorative objects like plants, trees, and even animals. You’ll want to try and hit, nudge, press, and jump on absolutely everything.
Astro Bot is technically the fifth entry in the Astro universe, though it’s the series’ first fully fledged — and fully priced — installment. Astro Bot takes ideas from these earlier titles and compiles them into a focused 3D platformer with dozens of main worlds, a bevy of additional unlockable planets and a wide range of satisfying mechanics. On top of this, the robot protagonists are super cute in every situation.
What Are All Special Bots In Astro Bot? Singstar Girl – Amateur Vocalist
This became The Playroom, Team Asobi’s first game. The Playroom came preloaded with the PS4 when it launched back in 2013 and functioned as a showcase of what the PlayStation Camera and DualShock 4 controller could do. One of the mini games featured was AR Bots, a tech demo-like experience that made it seem as if 40 little robots were inside the DualShock 4. By swiping the touchpad you could throw them into the room and interact with them through the PlayStation Camera in AR, before sucking them back into the controller. Today, PlayStation’s cinematic blockbuster titles still mostly cater to a mature audience, but Team Asobi is taking a different approach.

The following guide includes the identities of every Astro Bot cameo character, as well as information about the stage or area in which they’ll need to be unlocked. Players can also watch the video at the top of the page to see their animations and Gatcha Lab items. At The Game Awards 2024 (TGA 2024), ASTRO BOT made history by claiming the prestigious Game of the Year award. Competing against highly anticipated titles like Silksong and other GOTY nominees, Team ASOBI’s creation stood out for its innovative gameplay and PlayStation 5 excellence.
You’ll need a PlayStation 5 console and sufficient storage space (approximately 50GB). The game is optimized for play on 4K displays but supports all PS5-compatible displays. Nebulas is the main antagonist of the series, a space bully who loves causing trouble for Astro and his friends.
Whether rescuing lost bots, defeating enemies, or interacting with the surroundings, every action contributes to the sense of discovery. With polished gameplay and a visually appealing world, Astro Bot delivers a fun and rewarding platforming experience. This tribute is never more touching and joyful than in the case of Ape Escape.
Even before picking up any cool new toys, Astro has a laser-propelled hover ability that lets him destroy enemies while jumping over them, plus a standard punch and a chargeable spin move. These three abilities, plus whatever tool he picks up, are the entirety of Astro’s arsenal. This mechanical focus allowed Team Asobi to perfect each move and then apply them all in a thousand different ways, and the result is a rewarding and robust platformer. Astro Bot’s best moments take inspiration from some of PlayStation’s biggest games while adding a unique twist. Astro Bot packs a ton of variety into its level design, both visually and mechanically. Team Asobi cements itself as an essential PlayStation studio with an imaginative platformer for the ages.
Not only is this often key it to progressing through a level, but can also lead to secrets and Easter eggs, fun interactions, and hidden collectibles. Unlike ASTRO’s Playroom, ASTRO BOT is a standalone, full-sized adventure that offers over four times more worlds, 300 bots to rescue and dozens of new powers and features to discover. Developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, “Astro Bot” is set on 80 levels in six galaxies across 50 planets. The small robot must save fellow bots from danger, totaling 300 bots to rescue throughout the game. There are more levels like the Ape Escape one, in which Astro fully absorbs the personality and toolkit of another PlayStation hero and romps through a level based on that character’s own games. I won’t spoil them, but they all achieve a surprisingly deep synthesis of their inspiration (often a more mature-styled game) with Astro Bot’s tactile world, adorable characters, and toothsome gameplay.
It also provided a look back at previous PlayStation releases, including beloved characters and hardware of varying popularity. There are a lot of games nowadays that require you to be frugal with your purchases like Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. In fact, it’s encouraged to spend a lot of your money on animations for Bots, outfits, and Dual Speeder colors at the Gacha Machine.
With Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Team Asobi proved that it was more than capable of creating a remarkable full-length game. Asobi’s winning streak continued with Astro’s Playroom, a pack-in PS5 launch title that did a great job of showing off the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Simply put, Astro Bot is the studio’s magnum opus and, quite frankly, one of the best 3D platformers ever made.
I will be asking for a loan in a few months when a couple more of the speed run levels drop. @MikeTastic_86 I never said it ruined their experience, just reduced their potential enjoyment. I just think people would enjoy the game more without this kind of hand-holding from day one. It is merely a resource, and it absolutely makes all the sense in the world to have it ready as soon as possible and there’s nothing wrong with that approach at all. @get2sammyb @Quintumply Thanks for taking the time to make this guide. Not sure I’ll use it, unless I get really stuck trying to find something, but still appreciated.
