When Marvel’s Spider-Man hit the stores in 2018, many critics thought it was the best rendition Insomniac Games could ever give to the wall-crawling-friendly neighborhood superhero. Now that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out, though, those sentiments are beginning to possibly change, depending, of course, on your outlook on the gradually booming franchise.

Easily jumping off the screen, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 allows players to take control of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, freely switching between the two on the fly. More is definitely more in this case, as players follow individual storylines and take side missions, some exclusive to each character. Eight years later, Spider-Man takes on the villain Mister Negative, working to stop his plans to control New York City’s criminal underworld. Using Spider-Man’s ability to shoot webs and sling himself around New York, players follow Peter’s story while fighting villains along the way. Like S8 and film adaptations, Spider-Man takes on the responsibility of protecting New York City from the bad guys.

On the map screen, look for the El Train tracks cut through the middle of the district from North to South. On the Eastern side of it is a (relatively) small building that’s on an angle compared to the buildings around it. Near where the train tracks stop (on the map screen, at least), look for a building under construction with a yellow crane over it.

While not the most visually impressive experience, it ensures that players with older hardware can still enjoy the story. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features a total of 32 main story missions that has you play as both Miles and Peter as they protect New York from various threats old and new, including the ferocious symbiote, Venom. Of course, if you’re going to be catching your ray-traced, 4K reflection (if you opt for the 30fps fidelity mode) in that glass so often, you’ll want to look your best. Fear not, because there are dozens and dozens of suits to unlock, with myriad colorful skins to pick from on each of them.

While Spider-Man 2’s PC release is a good sign, there are no Spider-Man 2 DLC plans in the works.
